If Aquilegia is waterlogged for any length of time,it will die. This plant
can withstand nearly any amount of of drought but will not take waterlogged
soil. Plant it in a location where no water lies at any time of the year. I
have the local native A. Canadensis growing in the former owner's ashpile.
It is a sheet of brickred, finely foliaged and an early spring pleasure. One
plant is not as effective as a group.
