Hello Walter,
I live and garden in zone 6 with zone 5 weather frequently a visitor to the
area.... Spigelia marilandrica is a native here. Bobbie was just remarking about
the plant blooming in her garden ... a definite zone 5. I list the plant as zone 5
hardy in my catalog and feel it would make it in zone 4 / 5 border, but prefer to
stay on the safe side when making recommendations.
We all live and learn as we go, Walter. One of the best parts about
gardening.. always new discoveries... even in the "old" pile of information.
