I have never studied, in any way, mosses and lichens but they grow in
abundance all over our area. What I would like to contribute is that one of
the lichens can dry and become a sphere shaped grey brittle plant or
plant/animal. When the fall wet season reapppears this sphere will open into
a mounded plant and become quite beautiful. Could one trade or mail this
lichen in the dry form? Another question needing an answer before a trade
takes place is: will that lichen grow away from it's native site?
