After an intial early spring application of a granular 12-12-12, I use a
foliar ==Miracid, every two weeks or so and one application of a slow release
in late May.
If you are happy with your plants and they are growing well, then I would
leave well enough alone. (I do find that to get the optimum size in a hosta,
a high N fertilizer is essential.)
