[SG] Martagon Lilies

I have been wanting some of these lilies for years, but they were too
expensive or I was too cheap. This year I'm thinking of ordering some.
They are supposed to do well in shade and to look good with hostas.

I'd like to hear from any SG members especially in the Lower Midwest who
grow these successfully. Will they do well here? What kind of conditions
do they like? Are the whites as vigorous as the purple-y rose shades, or
do they tend to be weaker? If I just buy a couple, will they multiply on
their own or just peter out? Are they vulnerable to any varmints?

Wayside has them for about $9 each. Does anybody know of a less expensive
source?
