Re: [SG] Question from a potential new member -Reply

What am I doing wrong with mine? I live in a
6b (min.) PNW garden, it's growing on an east
fence in shade/some sun (probably 5-6 hours a
day), have lost one, the new one is 2 years old,
dies back to the ground each year, barely gets
5-6 ft. each year and has never flowered or
berried. Is it one of those late maturers?
Nothing I've read indicates I need male/female.
Any suggestions out there?

Ampelopsis brevipedunculata "Elagans"
(Variegated Poreclain Vine)
This vine does good in shade and is vigorous,
can get about 20 feet or
so.
The fruit changes from Yellow to pale lilac to
bright blue. Hardy from
Z4 toZ8
Looks good running up a tree.
