We had a hail storm a few weeks ago, though not as bad as what you're
describing. A lot of my hostas took it hard, with many tears in the
leaves. They've grown out quite a bit since then, with lots of new leaves,
and they look much better. I guess I think you should wait, but I do not
know if cutting the leaves would damage the plants over the long term.
Karen. [whose coral bells was knocked to flinders by hail, with broken
flower stalks but it is putting up about 12 new flowers stalks right now]
