hi
after growing such storm favorites as h. 'swiss cheese', and h. 'raggedy ann',
let me confirm the procedure. cut the leaves off at ground level.
this technique was perfected both on my collection of bonsai hosta, and my h.
'yardman's weedwacker'.
dont be afraid of it at all, this just forces your set of dormant buds into
service. the leaves may be a little smaller this first season, but in the
ground, will return to normal next weason, and eagerly stand and wait for the
next hail storm.
