Hi Bobbi,
Sounds as though your Cimicifuga is having technical difficulties. I would
suggest another location this fall as it goes dormant. After four years it
should have multiple stems with large leaves reaching up to 18 to 24 inches
across. Bloom stalk should be either there or coming on and reaching at
least 5 feet.
I do not recommend Miracle Grow. They are relatively light feeders as are
most woodland plants. Plenty of humus and organic matter in the next
location. Next year it should pop for you.
