Re: [SG] Welcome

Hi folks!

I live in southern Illinios (zone 6 wet, cold snowless winters and hot
humid summers of alternating drought and flood) and am working with an
almost brand new garden-this is our 2nd summer.  My shade garden at this
time amounts to  2 teenage silver maples underplanted with witchhazel,
azaleas, mahonias, serviceberry and virburnum,  plus a few hostas.  the
poor hostas were put in when we moved in  and will have their quarters
improved with manure and hydrophilic polymer just as soon as the last of
the bulb foliage dies down.

I have a lot of other shade hopefuls waiting for me to clear out the area
under the mulberry.  I plan to add geraniums, tiarellas and ferns.  On the
list right behind the rock garden, the prairie garden, the sun garden, and
of course, weeding : ).
