Bobbi, I don't know if you've read my raving about The Flower
Factory on perennials-l and gardens-l so I'll do it here a
little, too.  It is awesome.  Truly awesome.  This group of
extremely knowledgeable people have put together a collection
that is as good if not better than any other nursery I've ever
seen or done business with via mail order.

Jean is a sweetie as well as being responsible for the very
impressive collection of Hemerocallis.   She is extremely
knowledgeable about everything we asked about.

TAKE LOTS OF CASH!!!!  :)  And leave yourself plenty of time.
Then don't pass out when you see the geraniums.  the
clematis!!!!  the iris, hostas ... the CAMPANULAS!!!  Heuchera
.. oh geez ...  have fun.  The hardest part is exerting some
measure of self-control.

I don't think Jean meant that taxonomy is unimportant but that
unless one is actually observing the various characteristics of
the plants in order to compare them, it's a rather pointless
argument.  (Jean, plz feel free to tell me that isn't at all
what you meant.  :)

Kay is the only one that took a goodly stab at botanical
distinctions in this ramosa/simplex discussion.  The rest seem
to have been so much opinion.  With that, I suppose everyone can
decide it will be whatever they want it to be.  There seems to
be no overwhelming evidence on either side, so it is a matter of
opinion at this point.  Until more real data or a true authority
on Cimicifuga appears to resolve the issue, it seems to be a
moot point, IMHO.  And I, for one, will continue to collect all
of the species & cultivars I can get my little hands on.  I will
study them and I will form my own opinion.  Then when someone
classifys it definitively, I'll accept it.
