We are all appreciating your defense of taxonomic worship. Like Lesa, I have
sat at society meetings listening to speakers commune with a very narrow
section of the membership. Once before I said something about the difference
between botany and horticulture. If you are not a breeder, grower, teacher or
the like some of this can very tedious.

The finest designers, gardeners, general plant enthusiasts have no need to be
taxonomists. I think I would not have time to plant the darmera would I be in
the bookcase checking synonyms. We do our best, try our best but our
credibility is not harmed. That gardeners understand the process is
sufficient.

In a shady garden the old standby feverfew is a stalwart. I have three sorts
of feverfew in bloom and challenge you, Clyde, to explain how to name it.
(Hint - new names coming down the pike)
