My astillbe is blooming now. When it is done blooming should I cut the flower
stalk off will I get a second flush or should I just leave it?

Sorry to say-ASTILBE will not flower a second time if you cut the old flowers
off.
Marge is right that spring is a good time to work with the ASTILBE too,
ASTILBE are durable plants as long as they do not get to dry. They do not
need wet soil-just a soil that does not get dry. The more sun you give them
the more water they need and the brighter the flower color.
