Re: [SG] Sweet Potato Vine

Bobbi,
In Sep/Oct 97 issue of Fine Gardening magazine, it states "You can dig the
sweet potato's tubers before frost strikes and bring them indoors over the
cold months, but I prefer to overwinter cuttings. They root easily in a glass
of water set in a brightly lit spot out of direct sun. Pot them up when they
have several 2 inch roots, and keep them in a warm, sunny window."

I personally have 'Margarita' in a pot with 'Blackie', pink vinca, and purple
hearts. It is in a spot that gets about 4 hours of direct sun. I also have
'Margarita' planted in the ground with coleus and hosta in a shady spot that
gets about 3 hours of dappled sun. This one is growing better than the sunny
spot.
