We had a recent exchange about Lysimachias. In reading the August '99
issue of FINE GARDENING I find a reference to the "well-behaved"
Lysimachia ephemerum, with dark gray-green foliage and white blooms,
recommended for island gardens. I don't recall that anyone mentioned it...
Does anyone have experience with this species? Any knowledge of vendors?
All info appreciated.
Our town has an annual "Garden Walk" and it's this weekend. Their "Plant
of the Year," which will be for sale at all of the tour gardens, is
Verbascum 'Southern Charm'.
/ I got three from Burpee's this year. They've been in the ground about a
month. They piddled along at the beginning but now are looking quite a bit
more alive; one even has a tiny flower stalk. Am looking forward to some
bloom. More news later.

Can anyone share their experiences with this
verbascum? Should I buy none/one/more? Any cultural hints? What does it
look like, other than having big furry leaves and a triangular shape? How
tall? What color?
Our Carolina Silverbell has some yellow leaves. Should I be alarmed? Does
this tree like acid soil, and would it benefit from a shot of Miracid?
