I grew them in Hawaii, but didn't have to worry about wintering over there.
:) They grow in boggy areas, I remember them growing in standing water in
large ponds. I grew them in pots then and kept the pot submerged in a deep
tray of water. Now I have them in a pond submerged a couple of inches above
the pot. I plan to overwinter them in the green house since zone 8 is not
quite warm enough. You want to keep the tuber above freezing and on the dry
side when you winter them over. Poi anyone? Yuck!
