Any ideas?

Good morning,
    I was wondering if anyone could suggest a small decorative tree for a corner on the side of my house that gets little, if any, sun?  I have thought of a japanese maple, but are there others?  We are re-doing the landscape of a house we bought 3 years ago that was built 50 years ago and was not landscaped much.  It has been a fun and rewarding, ongoing project.  We had tried re-using some old boxwoods around this side, but they are looking really bad and we wish to replace them.  This area is an indented corner...a perfect niche for something special.
