Re: Azaleas

Sheila

here in the south azaleas are as common as colds. I have over 100 of
them in my yard. I lost only 2 to the drought last season. I can't
give you their names. I bought all of mine in the days when the name
of a plant was alein to me. I bought because "I just love that color"
remember the statement "ignorance is bliss" not true. I did have my
colors just right, but the plants seem to differ.
I have all but a few planted in shade. mulch with pine straw and feed
them cotton seed meal.
we have the wild one in the woods here, and I have managed to aquire
about 15 or 20 of those. Now those are pretty, but then I like them
all.
I don't know what to tell you about growing them in the north.

good luck
