One of the ways I discouraged the raccoon from visiting was to give up
putting egg shells in the compost. There being nothing of interest in my
compost bin he or she as moved on. Squirrels are my biggest nightmare. I have
never seen a crocus bloom in my garden due to the fact they open the bud to
get at the sweet stamens and leave me with broken petals. I have two very
large oak trees on the property, constant source of refuge and or food.
Would love a cat but so far haven't been able to convince husband. Oh well
the joys of the garden far outweigh the nuisance of the squirrels.
