Some have stated that raccoons are not preyed upon. This is true of adults
(though coyotes have been known to maul them to death), but not the kits.
We had raccoons nesting in a hollow at the base of a tree, and the mother
would leave at night to hunt. Each night one kit would disappear, so I
watched until I observed the culprit: a red fox. It carried each kit
away, presumably to eat away from the nest. I have heard that cats will do
the same thing. I have also seen a snowy owl eating a raccoon kit.
