Greetings from the WAY OUT !!!
Usually when I respond to an issue I feel strongly about, I end up
apologizing and/or retracting. And I get these messages, both public &
private,,,,
So let us assume that the following post only represents the opinion of a
few, and although the tone may sound critical, it is not intended to be
directed toward ANY individual. What else can I say ? " I'm Sorry " !
OKAY?
I live 'way out' in the woods, and I really enjoy the occasional 'Sunday
Ride' visitor that is just spell bound by the beauty of nature and the
interface of our plantings. A fusion of open mature hardwood forrest,
meadow and pond,,, occasionally interrupted by a homestead or a two track
road that winds between the trees disappearing,,, a hermitage at the
trails end?
Sundown and getting in the fire wood usually mark the end of the days toils.
Boots off, It's time for supper. Under the cover of darkness, dogs,
cats, ( Raccoons?), bags of trash, old sofas with torn cushions,,, in
short, all of the unwanted/undesirable dregs the 'City People' magically
appear. Oops,,, I promised my self that I would not write
Too passionately. Sorry!
During my years as a Ranger with the National Park Service at Joshua Tree
National Monument (a 570 sq. mi. park ), we would do some rather
sophisticated wildlife inventories. Coupled with direct observations, I
can tell you that even one animal the size of a raccoon can radically upset
delicate balances. In short, please do not inflict on nature or us 'way
out' folks. Besides being illegal (hence subject to court action and
fine), there are legal remedies to you problems. It will take some effort
on your part, it may even cost something, But please Please!,,, don't
pass along your grief to your country cousins.
I better bail out before I step on too many more toes,,, Sorry,
Brian
