Lot of great suggestions for hostas in pots! Thank you everyone! The mini
hostas appeal to me and I have a group of pots on a fence and I've thought
hostas would look good in them. I know that some hosta descriptions will
specify that they are good pot specimens but of course I can't find these
when I'm looking.
Thanks all! Louise

Hosta in Pots
My experience is that they all do well if kept well
watered.......however......as Diane suggests, Minis are great in pots as you
can bring more attention to them...pots on benches,steps, even hanging on
fences(design vertically on Stockade fences). One other thought is that I
pot up those that are particularly slug attractive as it's easier to keep
them slug free in pots...perhaps because you see them better and therefore
pay a little closer attention. And with black mondo grass try gold hostas;
also a great combo with Hosta Great Expectations.
