The 2 liter bottles also work good for growing early large tomato
transplants. I drill 3 holes in the bottom for drainage with a battery
powered drill. I also used plastic soda bottle cases that would hold twelve
of these two liter bottles when moving plants around.

Two liter soda
bottles became my salvation. I simply cut off the tops, poked some
holes in the bottom for drainage, and I now have very deep pots to start
my hostas in. I ended up cutting 85 bottles, and having enough gallon
pots for the rest.
