peat moss


I think my rhodo died because I planted it in a new, slightly raised area,
and the drainage was *too* good.  Apparently they are shallow rooted, and I
think mine died of thirst. Coupled with the peat moss that probably took up
whatever water there was, the poor thing never had a chance. I replaced it
once, but my heart still pines for the combination of a "Minnetonka" rhodo
(lavender blooms) next to "Emerald and Gold" euonymus. After two rhodoss, I
have a "Royal Family" holly there now, but it's not quite the same. Lynn
