A Plea for Help

Robins, I apologize for the nature of this request as it is more health
related than plant related.

Yesterday a woman was introduced to me, that had sustained a major injury to
her hand as a result of a fall against a cactus. Although the injury
occurred 2 years ago, many of the small fragments are still deeply embedded.
She told me that she has been to Doctors and hospitals, no one seemed to
have sufficient expertise with this unique injury to effectively deal with
the severe pain, and/or remove the embedded material. It seems that the
minute spines will not show up on X rays. There are other details that I
will spare you. This woman needs help.

Are any of you associated with a Cactus Society that may be able to forward
this request to a Health Care Professional with experience with this type of
injury?

Please respond to jrwenner@accesschicago.net , or myself so that I may
forward the message. Beyond making this request on plant Robins, further
Emails should be personally directed. Thank you for your kind attention,
and again, I beg your indulgence for this non-plant correspondence.
Respectfully Submitted, Brian Skaggs
