Bachelor's Buttons are beautiful, but are spreading all over rangelands in
the West, causing problems for ranchers.


Let's not blacken the name of Bachelor's Buttons (Centaurea cyanus) because of a lot of VERY weedy cousins. The nasty ones are listed on the U.S. APHIS site and the state abbreviations are the states in which these plants are listed as noxious weeds. The only one I have ever seen in a garden is C. macrocephala.
