Re: Primrose for Sunset zone 9?

Hi; I have polyanthas, auriculas, and a few other species.  Temp.s are from
app. -10 to 104F.  Some are evergreen, so I don't think they require a
period of freezing, and the heat doesn't seem to bother them as long as they
get shade in the hottest part of the summer and enough water to keep them
from drying out.  I have some polyanthas out in the sun, and they get
raggedy, even with extra water, but yet they survive.  Most of the primroses
bloom in April or May here, depending on how soon it warms up in the spring.
I think it is too warm in most places in the US for summer bloom.
