Clyde,
This recently introduced cultivar is a beautiful variegated selection, and
to me is more attractive and distinct than 'Variegata'. It grows just as
easily as any other Vinca minor, but you may not be able to afford as much
to start off with! Also, this selection was named after Ralph, (not
Robert), Shugert of Zelenka Nursery in Grand Haven, Michigan. It turns my
stomach to think that a nursery somewhere has already corrupted the name!
If it's a local place maybe you could bring it to their attention.
Sincerely,
Tom Clark

While cleaning up the garden today, I noticed the subject Vinca variety
that I
had forgotten that I had planted last fall. It is quite nice, with a
whitish
margin and centers somewhat with a bluish tinge.
Anyone know of any special cultural requirements for this one in Zone 5?
It seems to be thriving in open shade. (I never cared particularly with
using
vinca as a groundcover in beds where other plants were growing;rather, I
have
used it to surround trees, etc. But this one is special to my eye.

P.S. Is it syn. with V.m. 'Variegata'?
