Re: [SHADEGARDENS] Buddleia: Reply

Hi Clare,
I have tried the Paris japonica a few times here. I had quite a
collection of dwarfs then we got hit by a -20 temps while they were still
young. End of story. Have not tried since, but think I was not holding my
mouth right when I planted them. These shrubs can be seen in the middle of
a concrete island at McDonalds occasionally around here..
I think the new growth and blooms are equally beautiful and will one day
try them again. Also intend to try the Enkianthus. Subtle, but oh so lovely
as small trees. Tried two, and lost them some years ago.
