I'm not a bunny-hugger or anything, I agree that we humans, as a society, need
to correct situations that we create, but living here in the inner-suburbs --
where some of the cement is over 100 years old -- I like to think that my
gardening, and that of others, encourages and restores nature.  We provide a
break in the endless miles of parking lots, roads, and ChemLawn-ed sterility.

Of course, I do know some gardeners who get into the Us vs. Nature thing.
They're the ones always complaining about violets getting into their lawns.
I, on the other hand, go to their houses and say, "Gee, too bad you have that
grass in your otherwise lovely violet patch."  Sometimes they get it,
sometimes they don't!  :-)
