If planting crocus bulbs in pots prevents chipmunk damage, I wonder what
is damaging MY crocus! I had assumed it was chipmunks, but it is not the
bulbs that are eaten but the flowers. They will come up and look charming
for a day, and that evening or the next a.m. the flowers have been eaten.
Looks like something trampled and grazed there--torn crocus petals will be
littering the ground. A real mess! They come back every year, and every
year the same thing happens.

It does not happen with any other early spring bulbs, just crocus.
