Can someone tell me why one of my azalea's have not shown any sign of budding? As I stated before I layer all my plants. I transplanted one azalea 2 years ago and I transplanted one last spring and it is budding and ready to bloom the one I planted 2 years ago has'nt done anything. I also mentioned that the kids were messing up my garden I should have mentioned that it is mainly the older kids. The older kids know better. I can understand the younger kids breaking flowers. I should have also mentioned that I can root the willow tree I can root a few plants like the gardenia, willow tree and the forsythia or yellow bells. I can't get the forsythia to layer I can only root it with a 100% success rate! Thats one easy plant to root next to the gardenia. Now on my willow trees it takes me at least 20 cuttings from the tree I only am finding that 3 out of 20 survive but when I transplant them only 1 will survive. I still have the willow tree that I rooted back in 93 or 94 and it's a beauty each year. I root these plants early summer with the exception on my azalea's I layer them as soon as they are finished blooming. I'm sure the same principles apply whether I'm rooting or layering the plants. I had to reformat last night and it took me all night to get back up and running. If by chance someone has sent me a message I will get back to you I backed my email up.
