As I know many of you do, I have a number of books that are devoted to a
single genus. I'd like to buy the best general plant encyclopaedia. What would
you all suggest? Is it Hortus III ?
I have 2 books on ornamental grasses. Neither of them lists liriopes. (I guess
that such are not considered to be "grasses.")
Does anyone out there know of a liriope-like plant, that is white-bordered and
has a light green center that is quite commonly grown in Florida. I was told
by the nursery where I purchased one that it is Liriope muscari 'Variegata'. I
thought that one had a gold or yellow margin.
Might it be an ophiopogon? O! Yes! Almost forgot the main clue. In Florida,
it is called Aztec grass.
