[SHADEGARDENS] New Member

Hello everyone,

Sherryl, thanks for adding me to the shadegardens robin.

My name is Jane Diehl. I live in Bethlehem PA (Zone 6) and have been
gardening here for over twenty years. My husband and I have a one-acre
property that was once part of the orchard of an extensive farm. We still
have some grapevines and old gnarled apple trees that were part of the
original orchard.

Around the yard, trees at different levels of maturity provide varying
levels of shade. Secondary plantings under the trees include a variety of
rhododendrons, azaleas, mountain laurels, and other shade-tolerant shrubs.
Understudy plantings include spring-flowering bulbs, wildflowers,
perennials, lots of ferns, and some hostas.

In sunnier areas, I grow flowering shrubs, roses, some vegetables and
herbs, perennials, lilies, tender bulbs, and several hundred daylilies.

This year, my husband and I hope to add a railroad garden, which we've been
planning for a long time.

I'm looking forward to the information exchange on this robin.
