Re: [SG] Rhododendrons & Shade

Good morning, all:

I have found that even large leafed rhodies grow just okay in heavier shade,
but the problem I have is that they don't flower.

For example, I have Vinecrest for 4 years. Great foliage, but it has never
flowered. Last year, my local rhodie group suggested triphosphate in the fall
to help set buds. Some to none have developed. Those that have formed are
very small. So with the use of the chain saw, I will be letting more light
into that part of the shade garden. It will also help the hosta and astilbes
grow a better.

Hostally,
