Yes, my hostas in pots in the enclosed porch are
peeking out early, too. The weather on the enclosed porch is great for over
wintering in pots as it remains
between 36 and 28 F most of the winter (I can open the
door to the house to warm it up if the night is getting
cold - a rare occurrence here). The daylilies in pots there
are doing well, too. The evergreen varieties were green
but low key all winter and the dormant ones napped
nicely until just recently. The warmer days make for
a warmer porch and everyone is awaking...had better
water to prevent dryout. Everything will be kept
in on the porch until all danger of frost is gone...though
I may be tempted to take a few pots out for the daylight
hours. The hostas on the warm shelf at Walmart are bursting out of the sale
boxes and may be damaged by their too early & too fast emergence in the heat
of the store. A shame as they have such a welcome variety on the shelf this
year.
