Aucuba japonica

I have a small Aucuba japonica 'Variegata' that used to stand well protect
in the shade of the Hebe hedge I now have cut down because of frost damage
or drying out in combination with frost ..
- and then there is probably too much sun for the Aucuba now ... or has
anyone good experience with Aucuba in directly sun from south? I doubt that.
If it was your plant would you rather move it the sooner the better to a
more shady place?
