Around here, the pear trees bloomed okay, but it was so hot (80 degrees)
at the time they bloomed that by the end of the day (!) they had given up.
Also, the leaves on the trees were already out to the point where they
obscured the blossoms. Pear bloom would have been easy to miss, this year.
I don't recall where Lynn is but maybe conditions were similar.
Meanwhile, the dogwoods were fabulous!
