Hardy to zone 4. This rose suckers as it becomes established if that is a
concern to you. It has no disease other than Japanese beetles who love it
because it is the pink color they favor. It blooms repeatedly all summer if
you cut off the "rose hips" generously formed. Frau Dagmar does not exceed
four feet in height here and is nearly unkillable. Suckers are a problem in
a perennial border, it is a very good addition to the border but you must
pull up and cut out the suckering stolons.
Because of the beetles, we cut back this rose bush in July and do not allow
it to bloom all summer. That might be why we have so many suckers.
