Janet, thanks for the info on how the Chinese Empress Tree got to this
country. It's delightful to read this kind of tidbit. It's a real piece of
American history--Chinese history too of course. Where did you learn it?

I dimly recall that one of Allen Lacy's books has an essay on Paulownia,
which I read years ago. It would be worth searching out again.
