Hi all hosta lovers,
I need a little help deciding if there is a problem . I saw some
hostas at a local outlet this last week and some had little fuzzy
white balls on the leaf stems . I was just reading about scerotia and
found the author describing a white fuzzy growth fanning out on the
soil surface. While this growth that I saw was not on the soil
surface, it did cause me some concern that maybe there was an
introduction to the area of this terrible fungus (mean bad fungus ...
) . Do any of you know if what I saw might be sclerotia or is there
something else that could have caused this particular growth on these
hosta (hopefully less serious in nature)? These were very reasonably
priced but sclerotia at any price is not reasonable !
Thanks for your help.
