Hi Clyde
Arundo Donax (Giant Reed Grass)
was first broutgh to this country by the spanish in the 1600s it grows
so fast that they were able to use it as a traveling shelter, today it
is still used for the reed in wind instuments. In the landscape it can
be used as a screne, centerpiece, back drop and can get upwards of 20 feet
or so It is a clump tpye grower and is not invasise,Hoever it dose need
a large area.
Arundo Donax Variegata (Giant Stiped Reed Grass) gets about seven to
nine feet tall and has the most outstandind varieagation of all the
grasse simply my favorite, they bloom very late in the season.
M. Cabaret has more ribbon like look in growth and has white centers and
geen margins on the leaves whereas M.Cosmopolitan is more upright and
statuesque like in growth and has white
margins and green centers on the leaves
