Hi Rosemary,
Ambergate Gardens calls it Fringed Loosestrife. They list it with their
"perennials for sunny sites" but I'm pretty sure it was growing in part shade
at the garden where I first saw it. I know part shade can mean lots of
things, but I don't really remember the layout of that garden very well, so I
can't be more specific.
