How about Astilboides tabularis or Darmera peltata (or Peltiphyllum
peltatum - depending on which authority you accept). They are both
in Saxifragaceae and have green, peltate leaves. Darmera has
leaves 30-60 cm across on stems ranging from 30-100 cm tall.
Astilboides leaves are up to 90 cm across on somewhat shorter stems.
Both are quite hardy in my zone 6b garden.

has small pictures of the leaves and flowers.
I have these in my main shade garden (c. 1700 sq ft) along with a
variety of ferns and several species of Rodgersia, Hosta. They are
in a transition area from part to full shade and seem to be reasonably
happy. They are both sited in a relatively low portion of the bed
since I was told they preferred even and constant moisture.
Have fun searching,
John
