Well, this is one of the nicest welcomes I've had on a list!

A short bio from someone as loquacious as I would not be a good
idea...

but:  I started gardening a few years ago on sand and shade (and
that dreadful crop of P.Ivy) and had just gotten one garden matured,
and a few others organized when POOF!  we moved to a different zone
and a different soil.

(Psst...we used Clear-It - a round-up variation that doesn't harm the
soil.  on the pi plants only....and i got to do it because i'm not
allergic to it.  takes about a  week and then you can dig in with
the good stuff. )

 Instead of sifty sand, I have rock hard clay, moved
from zone 4 to 5...and the previous owners had beautifully landscaped
trees and shrubs (a couple of which I recognize)....but no flowers.
And a lot of shade from all these exquisite trees.

I have dicentra, campanula, and aquilega started, a couple that I got
talked into by the nursery and can't remember what, and shovel fulls
of stuff from a new friend's overgrown garden...all of which is
looking sad, and all of it about to be a surprise.

see....I'm talking too much already!  And come July, the garden had
better be looking after itself, because that's when I quit all but
the occasional weeding and do nothing but enjoy it.

(what's this about pepsi?  yuck)

I'll probably lurk more than post, but i'll stick my foot in it
yet....
