Hi, Joan
My mother lets hers die back. I had my own garden this year and I cut mine
back to about three inches just last week because I got sick of looking at
them; they weren't dying back fast enough for me. However, I did plant some
shasta daisies in the bed that are doing fine. I have seen them doubled
over with rubber bands around them and all sorts of things. One of my
co-workers says she cuts hers back also, and they come back every year, so
take your pick!
