Does the amount of iris rhizome that is left out of the yard depends on
one's latitude? In PASSALONG PLANTS, which is geared toward the south,
they say "Plant so the rhizome looks like a duck swimming on the water."
Barbara Jones in MA says plant with half on top of the ground.
If this is true, since we here in IN are somewhere in between I would
conjecture that we should plant our rhizomes so that a little more than
half is out of the ground. Does this make horticultural senses?
