Hi, Cindy. I just followed the directions on the bag, and yes, it does
increase the acidity of the soil. From sampling various areas around the
yards, I'd say pH on my property ranges from 6.8-7.0. I am guessing that
there is something particular to aluminum sulfate that creates the slug
resistant or repellent property, because I've used Miracid, wetted sulfur,
and iron sulfate in the past, without the same effect.
