schizophragma

Denise asked about schizophragma 'Moonlight,' the Japanese climbing
hydrangea. I put mine in last year as a small start, amended the soil well,
and am waiting for it to take off. So far this year, it is only about two
feet up the trellis. It looks as though one branch of it died off from a
very cold spell this winter, but the left side branch seems perfectly
healthy. The photos of mature ones convinced me that it would be worth the
wait, so we'll see...

and the peonies are incredible this year)
