Hello Cindy,
Omphalodes is underrated in more ways than one. Both verna and capp. have
been in my garden for quite a few years now. Both have been through 30
below with snow cover and 20 below without snow. O. verna is the native
species and O. capp is named after the mountains it is native to if I
remember correctly. Do not know about a consistent zone 4 but they
certainly should be OK in zone 5.
